The Wedding Cake

This just happens to be there very first wedding cake that I have ever attempted and I think I did a okay job. My mother in law had said that she would do the wedding cake for my nieces wedding day. You see she had done about 5 cakes in the past but none of them were fondant which is the current in thing as far as wedding cakes go. I just happened to open my big mouth and say that I didn't think it look to hard, after all the episodes of Ace of Cakes that I have watched I must know something right? Anyway I agreed to help her and this was the final result. I have long enjoyed decorating cakes, generally just birthday cakes but wedding cakes have always been something that I wanted to learn to do. Now that I know I could actually pull it off I might just get some more training in the cake decorating field.
Here is my beautiful niece right before they put on her gown, I asked her to pose with my little girl who was one of her flower girls. It is interesting for me to look at this picture because ten years ago this beautiful bride was my darling little flower girl herself. Time sure does fly when your having fun.

Trevins Birthday

Trevin turned 6 last week and what a great birthday he had. All of the family come down to the ball park and watched him play in his first T-ball game and then we came back here for dinner and cake and ice cream. He recieve some really nice gifts from his family and has spent several hours since enjoying all of his new toys. I can't believe how big he has gotten not just in size but in spirit. He is such a joy to have in our family and we wouldn't know what to do with out him.

Jumpin Jacks

We had a friend party for Trevin on June 2nd at Jumpin Jacks. The kids had a total blast going down all of the slides and jumping around with each other. After that we came back here for lunch and ice cream. He also recieved some really fun gifts from his friends. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend.

Its official...

Summer is finally here. Although the weather hasn't been the greatest the kids have had a few good days to play outside. Trevin and Tanner have found away to both ride the Rip Stix at the same time, and the girls have found away to all ride on the jeepy jeep.

Memorial Day 08

All the kids
Trevin and Austin heading out for the big four wheeler ride.
Grandpa Bob pushing the girls on the swing set.
We were lucky enough to get invited to go camping up to Tabiona with are good friends the Taylors. They have family property there and we were happy for the invite. Trevin felt it was his duty to show us just how much of a boy he was so he managed to go through several mud puddle on his four wheeler covering himself from head to toe in mud. I finally had to tell him to stop or he would be riding home naked ( we ran out of clean clothes for him to wear.).
Jason parents where also up there that weekend so we spend alot of time with them, it was really nice getting to know them better. We even helped Bob plant his potato garden.
